What makes acoustic wall panels different?

Ordinary wall panels are decorative. Acoustic wall panels do that and more: they absorb sound waves thanks to a perforated core or a special foam layer on the back. The result is a measurable reduction in reverberation — without making your room look 'upholstered'.

The difference lies in the material, not in the installation method. You install them identically to other wall panels, but the effect on the acoustics is immediately noticeable.

Choose this type when:

  • There are many hard surfaces (concrete, glass, tiles)

  • The space is larger than 30 m²

  • Multiple people are present at the same time

  • Peace and concentration are important

Less suitable when:

  • The room already has many soft materials

  • Damp rooms such as the shower

  • You are only looking for a decorative effect

Inspiration and applications

From home office to hospitality venue: acoustic wall panels fit into any context where both sound and design matter.

Installation & points of interest

Specifically for acoustic wall panels: installation is simple, but good preparation makes all the difference in the acoustic result.

1.

Substrate

Flat, dry surface. Suitable on plaster, gypsum, concrete, and existing tiles. Not suitable for direct contact with water or steam.

2.

Placement method

Click or adhesive system. For maximum acoustic effect: adhesive to the back and use wall clips at the top.

3.

Finishing

Cover joints with the matching profile. Allow panels to acclimatize: at least 48 hours in the room before installation.

4.

Coverage

Cover at least 30–40% of the wall surface for a noticeable acoustic effect. More coverage = more absorption.
